I enjoy every thing I get—the food and the help—from you. The food program helps me a lot in buying foods as I come short of money every month. Some times there is not enough for the whole month, but it helps out a lot.
We use all of the food we get: the yogurt, juices, cereal, fruits, potatoes, onions, chips, bread, muffins, and bagels. We like the baked goods including cookies and pie crusts. In the late summer and fall the garden foods are not always the best, like tomatoes and green peppers, but we know it’s late in the season.
Please keep doing what you do as we do appreciate it. Thank you.

Working with the Food Bank has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve done – I see tears, get hugs and kisses every week.
One of my most memorable people is a woman with children. She was born with club feet and deformed legs as well. Told me she’d never in her life worn anything but open sandals or slippers. She came to us monthly for years until she became eligible for Medicare and had surgery.
I saw her once after that – she was wearing shoes and was starting a job. We cried together and she gave me a little brown teddy bear with a red ribbon around his neck - a thank you. It has a special spot on a bookcase in my living room.
I could write many stories like this but none affected me like this one. I’ll never forget her.

The Food Bank is a place I never thought I would have to use. With a family of 5 to feed, food runs out so quickly. My husband’s health is not very good; we seem to have more downs than ups.
I felt embarrassed to have to use the Food Bank, but the people who run it at the Salvation Army made me feel better about having to get food. Everyone is so nice and they really seem to care.
I’ve had to use the Food Bank a few times since. I don’t know what I would have done without them!
