Gleaning
Gleaning Activities
The Garden Project administers a field gleaning program in the Lansing area. Fresh produce, which would otherwise go to waste, is harvested by volunteers to help feed the hungry. The Project organizes crews of volunteers to harvest produce at the request of area growers. The food is then distributed by staff to food pantries, human service organizations, and residents of subsidized housing.

What to help harvest surplus produce?
If you’d like to volunteer to help harvest fresh fruits and vegetables for The Garden Project, now is the time to act. Please call or email the office giving your name, address, and phone number. We’ll send more information and a registration form in June. Call 517-887-4660 or email The Garden Project
