How does your garden grow?
Do you…
-
want to grow your own healthy food and make friends?
need more gardening space?
live in an apartment?
…then The Garden Project is for you!
We administer community gardens throughout the Lansing and East Lansing areas. Each community garden is divided into individual plots. Sizes vary, but most plots are 25 feet by 25 feet in size (625 square feet). Unplowed plots are available at some sites.
Each gardener is assigned a specific plot. It is the gardener’s responsibility to plant, weed, water, harvest and clean up the assigned plot. All vegetables grown in the plot are yours to eat and enjoy — or to share with your family.
Remember, the first part of community gardening is COMMUNITY! Gardeners are required to jointly maintain all common areas, paths, and borders of their garden. In addition, gardeners are expected to participate in group workdays, including their garden’s opening in spring.
